Alright let me start from the beginning. I went in to the Dr. on Wed. Feb. 1st for a routine check up. They said that my blood pressure was way high and they wanted me to come back in 2 days to recheck it. They also took some blood to make sure that I did not have pre eclampsia. Well I got a call the next day saying that I did not have pre eclampsia. We went back in on Friday Feb. 3rd and my blood pressure was still way high. So the Dr. told me to go over the the hospital for observation. She said that they would probably end up sending me home. Well we went home to get the overnight bag just in case they did not send us home.
We got to the hospital around noon. The Dr. ended up coming in and starting me and then broke my water. I was suprised because I thought that they would only break your water when you got further along and I was barley to a 1. I was having contractions that were very strong and only 2 minutes apart so I thought that we were getting close, but I was wrong. They came and checked me and I was almost to a 3. YEP just a 3. So I decided that I was ready for the epidural. Well about 30 minutes after the epidural the nurse came in and said that the Dr. was on her way in because they were thinking that I needed a c-section. Apparently every time they tried to push the pitocin Crew would freak out and they could not find his heart beat. So the Dr. came in and checked me out a little and said that we were going in for the c-section. All through my pregnancy I said that I did not want to have a c-section cause I wanted to try to have him vaginally and that the recovery time is longer. BUT after being in labor for a while and feeling the contractions I was completely fine with going with the c-section.
Dan all suited up and ready for the c-section. He just looks so darn cute!! Maybe he should become a Dr.
Yep kinda sick for those of you who don't like this kind of stuff. BUT I think that it is kinda cool. I told Dan that he should record it but things went a little different in the operating room. We got in there pretty quick once they decided to go ahead with the c-section. I was feeling pretty good and excited to see my little one! Well they started the procedure and I was able to feel a lot of the cutting/burning. They said that I would feel a lot of pressure through out the surgery BUT this was NOT pressure. I could actually feel the cutting. I was able to lift my leg, which I did because I was in so much pain. They said that they could not give me anything until Crew was out because they did not want to freak him out even more. As soon as he was out they gave me something and I was out! I slept the rest of the time and I was snoring! It was about 30 minutes later when I woke up and was able to meet my amazing little man!! Crew was 7lbs 1oz. 20 inches long and born at 10:58 p.m. Feb. 3rd 2012.
Daddy and Crew with his first bath, he does not look too impressed, I guess we will have to see if he starts to like them!
First family picture of the Hills. Daddy, Mommy, and baby!
Grandma Meikle came in and was able to hold Crew. I almost forgot to get pictures, and I would have been very sad if I did!!
I think this picture is great! My Dad sleeps with his hand on his forehead like ALL of the time. I looked down and saw that Crew was doing this and could not resist!!
I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days after Crew was born because of my high blood pressure. I am now on medication for it and will go in tomorrow to see if it has gotten any better. They started me out on 1 pill a day to help lower it but I ended up on 3 pills a day and it still is not all that great. The Dr. came in on Wed. morning and it still was not good but she said that it was low enough and that I should just run and get out of there!! It was SO nice to come home and be with my Dan man again! I gave him my sinus infection and he did not want to be up at the hospital with all of the newborns while being that sick. I totally agreed with him and told him to go home. Some nights were very hard to be there alone but I knew that he needed to be home getting rest and I knew that he was supporting me even if he was not with me.
I love this next picture. Crew was having a hard time keeping him temp. up so they made him wear a hat. Well when we got home I noticed that he had pulled it down and was totally asleep. I love how he is hanging onto it.
